Alumni Association
Founded in 1921, the OAC Alumni Association (OACAA) is dedicated to fostering life-long supportive connections amongst alumni, and between alumni, the College, and the University of Guelph.
Mission
The mission of OACAA is to:
- provide a vibrant social and professional network within which alumni can associate
- enrich the learning and living environment and work-related experiences of today's students
- support the OAC and strengthen its influence within the wider University
- strengthen the partnership between the OAC and the agri-food industry, rural people and communities, and government.
Membership
Membership in the OAC AA is granted automatically to graduates of all OAC-based programs without a membership fee. The association offers members networking and social events, links with current students and participation in the ongoing life of OAC.
Awards
OAC Alumni recognize the importance of high quality teaching and research by college faculty, and value the technology transfer to the agrifood industry made by faculty members' participation in meetings, conferences, field days, etc.
Each year, the OAC Alumni Association chooses three faculty members who have made outstanding contributions in teaching, research or extension.
Governance Structure
The Association's affairs are run by a 10-member Board of Directors and a 23-member Advisory Council. Board members are elected at the Annual General Meeting held during Alumni Weekend in June.
Constitution
The Association's Constitution and By-laws provide a framework that governs its activities
Strategic Plan
Adopted in 2004, the OACAA's Strategic Plan outlines a new vision for the organization that will reshape its future.
