OAC Leadership Conference

The goal of the conference is to bring students from all four OAC campuses together to discuss student leadership in the University, agri-food system and beyond. This fun-filled weekend will give you a chance to expand your leadership skills!

The OAC Dean’s Office is looking for two students to be co-managers for next year’s OAC Leadership Conference Committee. The OAC Leadership Conference Committee is a student-run committee (with the assistance of the OAC Dean’s Office). Students solicit sponsors, design the schedule, invite speakers for this two day event and organize the logistics of the event. The goal of the conference is to bring students from all four OAC campuses together to discuss student leadership in the University and beyond. Students from all majors and programs within the OAC are encouraged to apply for these positions. These positions will run from March 2011-February 2012 and each student will earn $500 for the year. Time commitment will vary based on the time of year. Bi-weekly, hour long meetings with the OAC Leadership Conference Committee will occur in the Winter and Fall terms. Students interested in this position must fill out an application form (see below) and submit a resume to Melinda Vanryn or Joy Steele in Johnston Hall room 133A no later than March 2, 2011, at 4:00pm. Interviews will be held the week of March 7.

College Royal

College Royal, held each March, is the largest university open house event of its kind North America and attracts over 30,000 visitors every year. For students College Royal is also a 12-day long event that includes popular events like Super Thursday and the College Royal Ball. College Royal is a student run and organized event that involves some 3,000 volunteers each year. Whether you are a member of the general public curious to see what goes on at the "university on the hill", or a student looking to become involved, we invite you to join us. Come and join the fun next March!

Project SOY (Soybean Opportunities for Youth) is an annual contest that harnesses students' creative power to develop new products and marketing strategies for soybeans. Project SOY is designed to give students a chance to gain practical skills while establishing links with industry. The ultimate objective of the contest is to increase awareness and production of Ontario soybeans.
