Awards & Scholarships

OAC is committed to recruiting and retaining the best students. To achieve this goal, more than 300 scholarships and awards have been created by alumni, friends and industry partners to support qualified students.

Awards Status - 2011-2012

As a result of the economic downturn in 2008 and the negative impact on University Endowments, the University of Guelph will be suspending some of its endowed scholarships, bursaries, and travel grants for the time being. We will be working very hard to cushion the impact on students as we work our way through the 2011-2012 academic year.

We would encourage students to apply to any scholarships they feel qualified for even if the status is under review, this will ensure that if and when the scholarship for 2011-12 does become available, you can be considered for it and will not miss out on the opportunity.

We have indicated the status of each of our awards.

Award Status Messages Explained

The following will assist you in understanding the status of our endowed awards:

Not available in 2011-2012. This message will appear for awards that will not be awarded this year. We will not be accepting applications for awards in this category*.

Status under review. This message will appear for awards under review. No decisions have been made on whether these awards will be available or not. We are working to gather this information as quickly as possible and are committed to providing the most accurate information as it becomes available.

'N' awards are available in 2011-2012. This message will appear for awards that cannot pay out the usual number of awards. It indicates a reduction in the number of awards provided, but there is no change to the value of the award.

We would encourage students to apply to any scholarships they feel qualified for even if the status is under review, this will ensure that if and when the scholarship for 2011-12 does become available, you can be considered for it and will not miss out on the opportunity.
