Plant Biotechnology

Can you imagine plants as factories for the production of pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals or even plastics? Or seeing plants produce more and better quality food, with more essential vitamins and minerals? These and many other far-reaching but achievable goals are the focus of plant biotechnologists world-wide, who work to provide a better quality of life for poor and rich nations alike.

The University of Guelph, with its wealth of plant biologists, is uniquely able to bring you a program that incorporates the fundamentals of plant biology and the latest advances in molecular technologies. An important element of the program is experiential learning, providing students with the opportunity to gain research experience in advanced research laboratories.
