As part of its effort to build strategic networks with globally recognized universities and research institutes, OAC works with a number of preferred partners in the development and implementation of collaborative programs, student/faculty exchanges, joint research and graduate programs:
Michigan State University, Michigan, USAFounded in 1855, Michigan State University (MSU) was one of the earliest land-grant institutions in the United States, and the first in the country to teach scientific agriculture. Currently, MSU offers 200 programs of study through 14 degree-granting colleges and has a student population of more than 45,000. Its undergraduate study abroad program is among the largest in the nation, with programs in more than 60 countries on all continents. |
University of Chile, Santiago, ChileFounded in 1842, the University of Chile is the country's oldest institution of higher education and has been an integral part of the scientific, artistic and educational heritage of the nation. It has a current enrollment of 21,893 undergraduate and 2,108 graduate students in thirteen faculties and three national centres. Committed to internationalism, the university participates in over 80 collaborative agreements with institutions in 22 countries. |
University of Ghana, Legon, GhanaEstablished more than 50 years ago, the University of Ghana is the largest of Ghana's five public universities, with a student population of 23,600 across 3 campuses. Committed to meeting national development needs through quality teaching, learning, research and knowledge dissemination, the university has established partnerships with other institutions in Africa, Europe and North America for student exchange, faculty and staff exchange, collaborative research and exchange of materials, documents and equipment. |
University of Peradeniya, Sri LankaSri Lanka's oldest and largest university, Peradeniya's agricultural education program was initially established in 1947. Today, the University's Faculty of Agriculture hosts 8 academic departments and offers undergraduate training in Agricultural Technology & Management as well as Food Science & Technology. Committed to excellence in research, education and outreach in the agricultural sector for sustainable development, the Faculty of Agriculture also hosts a number of centres to support research and development for the agriculture and environmental sectors. |
Wageningen University and Research Centre, the NetherlandsOne of the world's leading education and research centres in the plant, animal, environmental, agrotechnological, food and social sciences, Waginengen UR is home to 6000 staff members and more than 9000 students (from 98 different countries) working towards solutions to scientific, social and commercial challenges for life sciences and natural resources. Areas of specialization include food and food production, plant and animal sciences, environment and climate, and economics and society. The institution has an extensive network of international partnerships across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. |
