Research currently accounts for approximately 50 per cent of the activities at the university. NLH currently houses 12 departments. Its main emphasis is on planning for tomorrow's agriculture, protecting the natural environment, using technology in agriculture, food quality and fish farming. |
Heriot-Watt University, ScotlandHeriot-Watt University was established by Royal Charter in 1966, but traces its origins back to 1821 through the School of Arts of Edinburgh. It serves more than 6,300 students on two campuses in Scotland as well as more than 9,500 on external programs in 140 countries worldwide. |
Lincoln University, Canterbury, New ZealandLincoln University was founded as the Lincoln School of Agriculture in 1878 and is one of eight government universities in New Zealand. Education and research are divided into four academic divisions: Agriculture and Life Sciences; Bio-Protection and Ecology; Commerce; and Environment, Society and Design.
