OAC Awards Ceremony Recognizes Outstanding Student & Faculty Achievements

Outstanding students and faculty from OAC’s campuses at Guelph, Alfred, Kemptville and Ridgetown received recognition for their achievements on November 8 at a reception held at the University of Guelph’s Peter Clark Hall.
Thanks to the generous support of individual, alumni and agri-food industry donors, close to $750,000 in awards and scholarships was presented to those OAC graduate, undergraduate and diploma students who best exemplify the dedication and drive for excellence that will be essential in ensuring a strong and vital future for the industry.
Awards presented for the first time this year included:
- Associate Diploma 125th Anniversary Scholarships
- Bruce Christie Entrance Scholarship in Agricultural Communications
- Pearl Lyons International Graduate Scholarship
- Stantec Environmental Sciences Scholarship
- Stantec Landscape Architectural Scholarship
- Stan Young Memorial Entrance Scholarship in Agricultural Communications
OAC Alumni Association and OAC Alumni Foundation faculty awards were presented to Manish Raizada, Plant Agriculture (Distinguished Teaching); Praveen Saxena, Plant Agriculture (Distinguished Research); and Allan Lauzon, Environmental Design & Rural Development (G.P. McRostie Award, which recognizes the importance of effective advising and mentoring by faculty).
