The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (or 'the Royal') is a Canadian tradition.
First held in 1922, the annual fall event is the world's biggest indoor
combined agricultural, horticultural, canine and equestrian event, and
attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
In this public lecture, Dr. Rob McLaughlin, president of the Royal, will
discuss how the event continues to evolve to remain relevant in an
increasingly urban world, attracting new visitors from across Canada and
around the world, while maintaining its strong rural focus and traditions.
