Tractor Tug Raises Funds for Local Charity
December 1, 2007
OAC pulled its weight in raising funds at the second annual Tractor Tug for Tots held on November 28 at the Guelph campus. Organized by the OAC Class of 2008, the event raised $13,200 for the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington, which helps underprivileged, at-risk children and youth gain access to programs and experiences that are vital to their well-being.
Forty eight-person teams from across the University community, the city of Guelph and surrounding areas competed against the clock, pulling 17,000-pound tractors 100 feet across the finish line on Reynolds Walk.
The team representing the OAC Dean’s Office was recognized as Top Fundraiser. Fastest teams were Guelph Police, Elmira Farm Service and the OAC Grad Students. A team of first-year students was awarded Best Dressed for their super-hero gear.
