OAC Public Lecture Features 2011 Superintendent in Residence

OAC’s Public Lecture Series continues Tuesday, February 15, with the 2011 Superintendent in Residence featuring Ken Siems, CGS, MG, and Project Manager at Jinhai Lake, Beijing, China. In his lecture, Siems will share what he has learned in golf course development and maintenance in a 27-year professional career that has spanned three continents and ten countries.

About the Speaker:
After beginning his professional career in Toronto, Ken Siems has gone on to become involved in the development and maintenance of golf courses and professional sports stadia in Canada, the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. During his fourteen-year tenure at Loch Lomond Golf Club in Scotland he was instrumental in helping the Barclays Scottish Open become an internationally recognized championship. Currently he is involved in overseeing the construction and grow-in of the new Jack Nicklaus designed course at Jinhai Lake, a planned eight golf course development in Beijing, China.

The OAC Public Lecture Series features distinguished speakers on topical issues related to agriculture, food, the environment and rural communities in Canada and around the world. The series promotes better understanding of the challenges and opportunities of rapid change and global connectivity. Developed with support from the alumni and friends of OAC, these lectures are provided free of charge for the University community and the public.
